About the Site

My name is Jahfer, I’m a student from Ontario, Canada and I love graphic design, photography and technology. I run this web site alongside another one on WordPress called TechBlogger. On this site I will be posting new images that I have designed or photographed.

I am 100% self-taught in both Raster (Photoshop, Pixelmator) and Vector (VectorDesigner) graphic programs. These will be the majority of what I use to create the images I post on here. I normally build the file in VectorDesigner and export it to Photoshop to refine it and add different things not available in vector programs. I also use photographs that I have taken from my Nikon D40 for images – so they won’t all be graphics.

I came about the title for this site when I was talking with my friend, Carli, about my plan to start a site for wallpapers. She suggested right off the bat, Backdrops for Your Life. I thought it suited the site perfectly because in today’s society, so much of our life is contained on our computers and that our wallpapers are really the backdrop to it. From there, I made the banner and registered the url – and the rest was history!

Therefore, my goal for this site will be to try to create – or capture – images to encompass people’s lives and I hope that I succeed in doing so. Feel free to leave a comment at any time on any article or even here. You may also contact me at backdropsforyourlife@gmail.com.
